What a three-week run for Chase Briscoe, James Small, and the No. 19 team. On the pole again this weekend in Michigan. This is the first time a driver has won three poles in a row since Kyle Larson did it last season. The NASCAR field is set for Sunday.

While Chase Briscoe has been on the pole the last two races, his finishes haven’t been as great. He’s focused on following up on this pole with a great run, and hopefully, a win.

A big thing for Briscoe is learning that he doesn’t have to push as hard in the Joe Gibbs Racing car. Once he gets comfortable in the 19, the wins are going to come. The speed is already there.

Here is the full lineup. Chase Briscoe is going to be side-by-side with Kyle Busch. Could this be the weekend Rowdy breaks the winless streak?

The last two times Chase Briscoe has been on pole, Charlotte and Nashville, he has come up short. At the Coca-Cola 600, Briscoe started out in the front but then fell back early. While he fought back for P3 that night, he was never in the mix for the win.

Last week in Nashville, Briscoe almost lapped Kyle Larson in the first stage. It would have been a major move from the JGR driver. However, later in the race, he fell off and finished P14 by the end.

Chase Briscoe needs a complete race at Michigan

At Charlotte, Chase Briscoe took the entire race to get back near the front. At Nashville, his first stage was fantastic, but he had to settle for less than what he should have in the end. This week, he has to put it all together and figure it out, beginning to end.

That first win has to come soon. Everyone expects it when a driver is in a Joe Gibbs car. Briscoe expects it from himself. A big challenge for Briscoe is learning to let things go. Don’t push too far over the line, this isn’t Stewart-Haas. You don’t have to outdrive your car anymore. You have to drive within your car’s capabilities.

There are a few drivers at the bottom of the starting lineup that are going to be fun to watch. Christopher Bell in P25 comes to mind. Ross Chastain in P20 will be one to watch as well.

Chase Briscoe has the speed, but can he bring it to the race on Sunday? It will be yet another test for him, and the expectations are only rising each week that he starts on the pole.
